The dynamic film industry constantly seeks efficient solutions for setting up and testing data distribution vital to bringing sets to life. As lighting technologies advance, the demand for data control escalates, leading to the adoption of protocols like ArtNet and sACN, enabling transmission of over 30,000 universes of data through a single Ethernet Networking Cable.

 

Today, it's commonplace to see thousands of feet of Ethernet cable snaking around sets, serving as data highways for fixtures and hubs. However, laying out these lines is time-consuming, prone to damage, improper crimping, and susceptible to electromagnetic interference from power distribution.

 

Enter a game-changing innovation: broadcasting sACN or ArtNet over power lines, coupled with a DMX512 Node. This allows strategic placement of data mines in electrical outlets across the set, eliminating the need for extensive Ethernet cable runs.

 

With this combination, a set lighting technician can swiftly leverage existing copper wiring within a residence, stage, or film location during a shoot, transmitting high-speed data to control lighting throughout the production set. This revolutionary approach circumvents the challenges of rigging data cables, additional floor hazards, or wireless interference.
